The team is thrilled to begin their plans to compete against gold-winning Opening and Closing Teams from across the country at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on June 20-25, 2016

Additionally, we are proud to announce that Destinee Coates, Health Assistant senior from Neshannock brought home the bronze medal in First Aid/CPR.

The annual SkillsUSA conference was where students, all state regional contest winners, competed hands-on in 73 different trade, technical and leadership fields.

"We are very proud of the accomplishments from each of our competitors," said Christina Weisenstein and John Goebel, SkillsUSA advisors at LCCTC. "By showing their dedication to excellence in occupational and leadership skills, the Opening and Closing team, Destinee and the other fourteen students who participated in the SkillsUSA State competition are true "Champions at Work."

During the annual PA SkillsUSA State Championships, more than 1,700 outstanding career and technical education students worked against the clock and themselves, proving their expertise in leadership contests like the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Outstanding LCCTC students who also demonstrated their skills in trades include the following: John Walko, CNC Milling Specialist; Adam Locke, Electrical Construction Wiring; Nick Frelin, Medical Math; Nikki Miller, Pin Design; and Eryk, Welsh, Technical Computer Applications. The Chapter Display team of Robert Bird, Brianna Burgin, and Devin Marshall and the Promotional Bulletin Board team of Kixx Alderette, Jeralynn DeNome, and Dalton Dilling also represented our school with pride. Savannah Harris, Matt McConahy, and Ben Schwartz served as delegates, helping to elect next year's state officers. Every student earned their way to make it to the state competition. They all worked so hard. With such negativity we hear about "kids now a days," it's so nice to know and see the great things they can and WILL do.
