SkillsUSA Assembly ~ Skylar Harris

(deep breath)  Remember everything you learned!  Don't
     throw up!

Oh goodness! It's time to go in!  (another deep breath as
     I enter the crowded gym...)
LCCTC eagerly awaits the awards ceremony.

What's this?  They're cheering for us?  They're waving!
     They're excited!  I am, too!

     "The shield represents Patriotism..."
Secretary Jacob Troutman

There's about 500 people in this gym and I'll bet I could
hear a pin drop; they are so kind to respect us like this!
Thank you...thank you!  I wonder if the smile I feel on
the inside is showing on the outside?

"...in upholding the ideals of SkillsUSA."   They're
cheering again!  ...and this medal ROCKS!  I LOVE
     SkillsUSA!  This was so fun!

Every year, Lawrence County Career and Technical Center has their SkillsUSA Award Ceremony to honor those who were courageous enough to show off their skills. On January 22nd, fifty-nine students were recognized for their participation and successes at the District Competition.

The school welcomes the parents and families of the participants for District Competition to sit, front and center, and watch the Opening and Closing team open the meeting for all to be awarded. Our director, Mr. Leonard Rich, called each by name and all received a well-deserved certificate.  Those who earned a first, second, or third place earned a medal.

All gold medalists and two bye competitors will travel to compete in their divisions. Additionally, our Chapter Display Team, Promotional Bulletin Board team, and LCCTC Delegates will also attend.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL SKILLSUSA PARTICIPANTS!
