Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ Sam Amon

I don't know about you, but I love Chocolate Chip Cookies, so when I make them, I make a lot! They remind me of Christmas Eve as a child, plating one of every cookie for when Santa comes with the present. Then, later in the night, sneaking downstairs to see if he has come yet, only to see the gifts are already there and the cookies and milk are already gone.

Ingredients:
2 ¼ cup of Flour
¾ cups of Sugar
1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
¾ cups of Brown Sugar
Q teaspoon of Salt
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
½ cup of Butter (softened)
2 eggs
½ cup of shortening
6 oz of Chocolate Chips

Start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next, gather the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt) combine them in a bowl.

Afterward, gather your wet ingredients (eggs, vanilla extract, softened butter, and shortening) and combine them in a separate bowl.

Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until the batter turns into a smooth tan mixture.

Next is the fun part, folding in the chocolate chips. (HINT: Stirring the chocolate chips, as opposed to using an automatic mixer, can stop them from breaking)

Have your cookie sheet spread with nonstick spray. Using a spoon, form your cookies on the sheet, making sure they are at least two fingers spaces apart.

After they bake for 10-14 minutes, pull them out and allow to cool. Once they are cooled, grab a huge plate of them, a tall glass of cold milk, and enjoy!
