Netflix Review: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving ~ Jeralyn DeNome

Netflix Review:  A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
By Jeralyn DeNome

In the movie, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown is placed in a predicament. Peppermint Patty invites herself and a few friends over for Thanksgiving dinner, but poor Charlie has nothing prepared -- nothing at all.

Here is the problem:
  • Charlie Brown had nothing for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner
    • Their dinner consists of toast, popcorn, pretzels, and jelly beans.
  • Snoopy had to use a ping pong table in the backyard as their dinner table
    • They didn't have a table big enough for all who had been invited
    • They didn't have room to fit everyone, even if there were a ginormous table!
  • Snoopy couldn't open the lawn chair to save his life
  • As Woodstock is buttering the toast, he accidentally sticks Snoopy's ear in the toaster and butters it, too!
  • Nobody has fancy clothes to wear, but everyone expects a fancy dinner
  • Even though Peppermint Patty told everyone to dress casually, she expected a perfect meal.  She missed the entire point of Thanksgiving.
Here is the grand message:  In the end, it's not all about WHAT you have or even if you have anything at all. Thanksgiving is about being together and enjoying the holiday with friends and family.

So be grateful this year and enjoy your Thanksgiving with friends and family!
