"A Feeling of Brotherhood" ~ Jem Montgomery

Although Shenango-native Isaac Buckley enjoys his job as a mechanic at Byer’s Trucking, his employment isn't all that keeps him busy on certain weekends.

Five years ago, Isaac saw an ad in the paper for the Lawrence County Civil Air Patrol Squadron 123. He has been involved in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) ever since; his squadron executes search and rescue practices, volunteer services, and even marches in parades.

Technical Sergeant Buckley meets with the CAP every Thursday at the armory and has also been through “encampment”. This week-long training simulates military boot camp and takes place in Fort Indiantown Gap.

The CAP can greatly benefit anyone wishing to pursue a military career, even at the tender age of twelve; however, military involvement is not required upon completion of the program.

Isaac is considering all of the options available to him for his future and would be happy attending college for diesel mechanics or joining the military.

We wish this extraordinary junior the best with his endeavors as he supports his local community with his brothers and sisters in the Civil Air Patrol.
