Face Off ~ by Jem Montgomery

If you walked into the cosmetology shop, one of the first things you would notice is the wall, labeled "Face-Off,” covered in masks. Cosmetology students gain their inspiration, knowledge and experience for their masks from the TV show "Face-Off.”

Because creativity is an important aspect of constructing the masks, prices for materials can become expensive. This year, cosmetology students, under the direction of Ms. Cepro and Ms. Marino, decided to make the masks the old fashioned way -- with papier mache.

This challenged the students' creative abilities and imagination, and the results have been amazing! Students usually research ideas online and then build their masks from the ground up.

Ms. Cepro declared, "Every year it just keeps building, which is what's so exciting about it!"

Congratulations goes to the winner, junior Allegra Assid, for her Lady and the Tramp Mask!
