He's Got Gas! ~ Kaitlyn Wright

Some may know Mr. Parsons for his silly teaching strategies, his crazy voices, or even his unusual ways to get comfy, but do you really know Gas and Oil's favorite teacher, Mr. Jay Parsons?

Before getting his start in the real world, he went to Maplewood High School in Crawford. After graduation, Mr. Parsons spent 8 ½ years at Clarion University to study communication, Arts/English, and social studies.

Prior to starting here at LCCTC, his golden voice could be heard on the air at WRJS and WKQW radio stations for 12 years. His resume also includes five years working in internet customer service at Blair, and, for the last four years and counting, he has his name on his own mug as an employee at Home Depot!

Sorry ladies but he is happily married and has two daughters: Samantha, 26 and Mackenzie, 24.

Obviously we all know Mr. Parsons is funny, but not a lot of people know that he is a huge history fan; his favorite TV show is the Big Bang Theory, and he likes to collect historic items. If asked, "What's on the menu for supper tonight," his greatest desire is to hear "mac n' cheese!" One final fun fact -- Are you ready to be mind-blown: Mr. Parsons performed in theater and took ballet.

Mr. Parsons lives by the quote: “Success teaches nothing; you only learn from failure.”
