Poetry Corner: LCCTC Honors Those who Served

The Song of Freedom
by India Cunningham

Sing me the song of freedom.
Let me feel each beat, each melody of the song.
Don't stop, not even for a second,
Play the song 'til the end,
Play it 'til the end.

Do not rest, just keep playing.
Play it loud, play it so loud
That the earth will tumble
That the Heavens will come down,
And the angels will dance to the melody.
Let everyone hear it.

Thank a Veteran

by Christian Jackson
Whenever you see someone in uniform
Someone who serves us all
Doing military duty,
Answering their country’s call,
Take a moment to thank them,
For protecting what you hold dear
Tell them you are proud of them,
Make it very clear
Just tap them on the shoulder,
Give a bright smile and say,
“Thank you for what you are doing
To keep us safe in the USA”

Flags line the walkway on a frosty morning at LCCTC

The sun breaks over LCCTC; the day begins, and we are thankful for those who have served.
