Conservation Club
|
The LCCTC Conservation
Club is an organization designed for LCCTC students who enjoy nature and
would like to help preserve it. The club’s motto is “Explore, Expand, and
Protect our Natural Resources”. The club’s goals are to get students involved
in outdoor learning, stewardship, and hands on activities. Some of the
activities are listed below. Meetings, activities, and events that would be
held year-round.

Creating a variety of
arts and craft projects, here are just some ideas, canvas painting, homemade
bath balms, candles, picture framing, cell phone covers, bead work, candle
holders, stepping stones, jewelry items name plaques, bird feeders and gifts
for Christmas giving. Many different methods being used such as clay, dough,
paint, fabric, rope, and paper mache just to name a few.

|
Interested in sports?
Like to debate about which team/player is better? Who wins this week? Like
the show First Take or Sports Nation on ESPN? Then sports talk is the club
for you. New to LCCTC is the sports
talk club where students with/without a sports background debate, discuss,
and talk about sports-related materials.
These materials will include current events, sporting events in the
area, news reports, and may include controversial topics in the sports realm. The club will have weekly debates as well
as documentaries/videos to discuss during activity period. At the end of the year, students will be in
groups to debate on many topics that will help determine the Sports Talk
Panel champions!

Like different cultures?
Like trying new foods? Like learning
about the different backgrounds in the local area and abroad? The World Culture Club seeks to
promote understanding and appreciation of world cultures by hosting foreign
film viewings, small clips, video documentaries about different cultures,
small food tastings during activity period, and possible trips to culture
events / dining options. The club will also host a World Culture Day where
students in LCCTC can attend and learn a little more about different cultures
around the world.
