Lettermen Jackets ~ Jeralyn DeNome

You may have seen some students walking around the halls wearing these stylish Letterman jackets and thought, "THOSE ARE NICE!" You could have one, too -- as long as you have no discipline record, good grades, and a decent attendance record. To earn a jacket, you must also get a recommendation from your shop teacher and two academic teachers.

The Letterman jacket is a jacket that is worn by high school and college students in the United States to represent school pride as well as to display personal awards earned in athletics, academics, or activities. The letter on the Letterman jackets are always the first letter or initials of their high school. Varsity jackets trace back to being called the "letter sweater" first introduced by the Harvard University baseball team in 1865.

These students are proud to wear Lawrence County Career and Technical Center's first ever Letterman jacket. Having one of these jackets is truly an honor, knowing you are a valued student at LCCTC.
