NOCTI and NIMS season is here! Seniors -- we wish you the best of luck!
What can you do the night before a test to make sure you're at the top of your game?
1. Prepare things the night before: Make sure you have what you need -- pencils, calculator, glasses, all gathered and packed, waiting for you by the door (so you don't forget it).
2. Wake up your mind and body: Give yourself plenty of time to wake up. Does a shower help you in the morning? How about a coffee (minus too much sugar so you don't carb-crash in the middle of your test.) Your mind is bright -- use it!
3. Wear appropriate attire: Within school rules, be as comfortable as you can. If your clothing is too itchy or too tight, your focus will sway from your task -- doing your very best!
4. Eat a smart breakfast: This might include eggs, bacon or sausage, and a piece of fruit. If you overload on grains like a big, gigantic bowl of sugar pops or ginormous chocolate muffin from Dunkin, you'll be tired from the get-go. Think healthy!
5. Warm up your brain: Read a little, sing the words to a song, look over (with confidence) your study material before you walk into the room. You "got" this!
6. Allow ample time to arrive: Just like work -- 15 minutes early is ON TIME. You don't want to be rushed and wound up when you come in. In some cases (SAT), students are not admitted late! Be on time!
Most importantly -- be confident. You have worked hard to get to this point. Your teachers have taught you well. After all -- any test is simply this: A Celebration of Knowledge!
