"For I Know the Plans I Have for You" was the theme of last night's Baccalaureate Ceremony at Christ Luthern Church on West Washington Street in New Castle.  

For the past three years, the members of LCCTC's Class of 2018 have been working toward their plans for a future...

...so that, in spite of what life brings, these young men and women will learn to thrive in the midst of it all.

LCCTC continues to maintain a wonderful partnership with the New Castle Community YMCA, and to that we say, "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" 

This year, the Y contacted our Director, Mr. Leonard Rich, with a proposition: If we would help them rearrange their weight room to house their new equipment, in return, they would make a donation!  Because of this deal, we were able to add to LCCTC's already well-stocked workout facility two "new to us" treadmills!  

Thanks to the muscle of Dylan Janiel (Weld senior, Mohawk), Domenik Ritter (CA senior, Ellwood), Wyatt Butler (Weld junior, Ellwood), and Cody Gabauer (Weld junior, Mohawk) who assisted the Y in rearranging their weight room and making room in our workout space to place this equipment! 

This gift allows our students even more access to healthy opportunities during physical education!  

Thank you, New Castle Community YMCA!  We really do appreciate all you do for us and our community!

SWPB End of Year Picnic 2018 ~ Eagle Staff

Picnic food, music, games, a chance to chill out with friends...but wait -- A Dunking Booth???  A Car Smash???  Geesh!  The end of the year picnics just keep getting better and better!!!

This afternoon, Mother Nature sprinkled a healthy dose of cheer to 249 LCCTC students, free of disciplinary write-ups for the ENTIRE year. Yes -- you heard it right...discipline-free...no write-ups...GOOD...no -- GREAT KIDS!

Serving at this picnic is a way teachers can say "Thank you" to students for doing so well.

As part of the School Wide Positive Behavior initiative, these students were invited to attend a picnic lunch, participate in plenty of outdoor games in a music-filled atmosphere, a healthy dose of sunshine, and a chance for luck in winning gift cards. 

In addition to the bonuses that their invitation to the picnic brings, this year, there was a Dunking Booth paid for by the Senior Class of 2018.

There was also a "Wack for a Warrior" car -- Yes, kids got a chance to release frustrations by taking a wack at the car with a sledgehammer.  Mr. Ovial and the Peer Leaders (especially Rebecca Shoaf, senior Cos student from New Castle, and Nick Neupauer, sophomore GO student from Ellwood) were able to raise $189 for the Wounded Warrior project.  Special thanks goes to the AT and CR shops for safely preparing the car for demolition.

All students were entered for a chance to win iPad Mini worth $400, but there was only one lucky winner: Devin Dilling!

"It's always our pleasure to recognize and honor our best students for doing what they should," states Principal Milanovich.  "We hope they had a wonderful time at the picnic.  This is our way of thanking them; we wish we could do even more because they truly deserve it."

It was evident: the kids loved it, the staff loved it, and all had a really good time!

"I love this school," remarks Devin Dilling, Welding junior. "I really feel like they care that I'm making good choices, and it makes me want to continue to do the right thing.  It's a bonus for me this year; I won the iPad!  I NEVER win anything!"

In addition to the SWPBS Team and the teaching and secretarial staff, special THANK to  the following:

• George and Jim, the custodial staff for set up and tear down
• Mrs. Kegel for booking and negotiating an awesome deal for the dunk tank
• the cafeteria staff for the delicious brownies
• Peer Leadership (particularly Rebecca Shoaff and Nick Neupauer) for organizing the Wounded Warrior project)
• Mrs. Price and RT for setup and the food
• the guidance office for checking kids in and "acting as bouncers"
• to officer Preisel for setting up the music
• the Administration for their continued support of SWPB

As a school, we all thank Mr. Orelli and the SWPB team for all they do to recognize our students for "making good choices" and "doing the right thing."
